A 'snap-shot' into my world ...

After yesterday's blog about work/life balance, I not only love what I do, but I also get to work with some really incredible people. Musicians, Vocalists, Composers, Producers .. to name a few. I have recently undertaken an extensive amount of work for Composers Daniel and Laura Curtis in association with singers such as Samantha Barks, John Owen Jones, Katy Treharne on the project for 'Love on 42nd Street' CD for BBC's Children In Need - all of which I will share in another blog sometime soon. But today I'm going to let you into my world and share some of the experiences of my shoot with 'The Baritone' Mark Llewelyn Evans.
For me, Mark 'The Baritone' has a cream rich voice which together with his deep dark brown eyes, tells you a story when he sings. You're pulled into his world and taken fully into that moment. Mark 'The Man' is full of joy and happiness & there's never a dull moment. He is very much the joker, entertainer, full of fun and before very long I was full of smiles and laughs.
We drove accross to Laugharne and as the weather was glorious, albeit just a bit chilly in the wind, and took a walk along the sea edge to Dylan Thomas's Boathouse & writing shed. Along the way we stopped to read some of Thomas's poetry - Mark reading aloud in his deep, truly Welsh tones. There is something about the Welsh voice that feels like thick double cream, which also crosses over into Mark's singing too.
There seems to be never a dull moment with Mark, and laughs were had at so many points of the shoot. It's a good job the shoot-brief was for more relaxed causual shots! Having said all of this, Mark is very much the professional, knowing what shots he likes, where he wanted them and instantly decisive in finalising the photos.
Mark made my job really fun, bursting into song on many occassion, the smiles, the calmness, the cheekiness (you'll know what I mean when you've seen him sing live!) but most of all has to be the genuine loveliness of the whole man. Thank you Mark!
