Days of radio silence

There are times when, after a shoot, my head is buried in processing and looking through the full set of photos before going back over them all to pick out the chosen ones. This will generally take a full day of my time, perhaps longer than it should be, merely because I am totally passionate about picking the best, the ones that everyone will go 'oo or ah' over.
Mostly, after late night gigs, travel home and so on, all I can think of is uploading all photos and looking through. I'm more of a night owl, so I mostly get comfortable and start the process of upload, catch up with messages/emails and look through the day/nights shots. I'm not sure if I'm a 'typical' photographer, but I can't wait to upload, look at and sort through all my photos.
Anyway, just like most jobs, most of my time is in post production rather than at the actual shoot. There are days upon days where all I do is sort through albums and albums of photos. I check, double and even triple check photos to get the best out there to the client, the friend or whomever I am shooting for ... so there are often days of radio silence from me while I become absorbed in my work.
Being a photographer is not just 'point & shoot and t'dah' as some people may think.
