All is Rosy in the Garden

Sitting in the garden today, looking around me, I realise how very lucky I am. I actually had a few hours to sit back and slow down ... to go less than 100 miles per hour! Life is truly what you make it, or make of the situations that you find yourself in.

After my last blog entitled "Days of Radio Silence", I didn't quite think I'd have such a busy and non-stop/full speed time and literally have days of silence! But there you have it - life is full of surprises round each and every corner.

The last couple of weeks have been busy and varied with photo opportunities. Over the bank holiday weekend, I had two shoots one for 'The Baritone' Mark Llewelyn Evans at The Pheasantry, Chelsea followed the night after by the Illegal Eagles at the Grove, Dunstable. Both sets of photos can be seen over on my Events page.

But the loveliest photos I was able to take over the long weekend, were of two of my dearest friends who made a very last minute hop over the atlantic at pretty short notice. Of course they came over for the gigs, but it set me off thinking about how we all met and the joys of social media and one man in general who pulled us all together.

I am, of course talking about Alfie Boe. How can it be that one man could have allowed us to all form such wonderful ties, friendships and even feel like we've all gained family? I won't bore you with all the details, but one day whilst tweeting, I followed @AlfieBoe. I'd heard him sing in Operas and on the television, but had never really been a 'fan' of anyone enough to 'follow' them. Twitter for me had been a device to chat with my Goddaughter.

Anyway, down the line and chatting to other 'fans' we all started meeting up at gigs and concerts country, even world-wide ... all because of one man. Our friendships go deeper and further than we could have even imagined in our lives. Those friends are there in good times, bad times and ... well, Alfie times! ;)

I don't really know why I started thinking about those friendship ties this afternoon, perhaps as I flicked through the photos of my two friends, I remembered how rosy my garden is - the friendship garden, not just my own surroundings.
